Jamaican culture to be on show in New York on Sunday

ON Sunday, New Yorkers are expected to turn out in droves for the second staging of the Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival at Roy Wilkins Park.

The best of Jamaican jerk cuisine, music, and cultural expressions will be on show at at the family-friendly one-day festival. Reggae singer Tarrus Riley is confirmed to perform at the event.

Building on the success of last year's staging, the producers of the event -- Jamaican Jerk Festival USA, Inc and VP Records -- are promising an even more sensational and impressive presentation in celebration of Jamaica's 50th anniversary of independence .

Showcasing traditional folk music, storytelling, and drumming, the cultural stage will feature Braata Folk Singers, known for their unique and dynamic presentation of Caribbean folk music.

Mazie Miller, Grace Food's top chef and culinary expert, will be whipping up tasty treats, hors d'oeuvres and formal meals as she conducts interactive cooking demonstrations featuring some of Grace Food's newest products.
