He has high hopes for the song which he describes as being a mixture of R&B and hip hop with a reggae undertone.
But where does the formula for the song's overall success lie?
"I always put that in the hands of Jah. I always create music with an open mind and heart. But so far the fans have been giving it a crazy response," said Laza Morgan.
That, paired with the direction being provided by Platinum Camp Productions which is now responsible for managing his career, is an integral part of the formula.
Daddy Biggs of Platinum Camp Productions told The STAR, "Laza is an international artiste. He had a song in the Step Up 3D movie that got countless hits, then there was the next big international hit with Mavado, One By One. He's definitely doing well breaking out as a solo artiste and Platinum Camp is behind him all the way."
Progress over the years
Now adding a solo aspect to his career, Laza Morgan told The STAR that he is pleased with his progress over the years.
"It feels good. I've come up from a musical family, Morgan Heritage and I was a part of the younger group LMS. I've toured the world with Morgan Heritage. So I've been learning a lot and moving from step to step," he said.
Laza Morgan also told The STAR that years from now he sees himself as an iconic figure who offers a helping hand wherever he can to the youths of the world.
Gimme Little is being added to major stations in places such as Bermuda, New York, Boston and France and he believes that like One By One, Gimme Little is going to turn out to be something big.
An official video for the song is not yet released, but a teaser giving a sneak preview to fans is available online.
He added that an upcoming world tour to places such as New Zealand, Australia and France will kick off at the end of September.
Laza Morgan urges all his fans and lovers of music in general to visit his website www.lazawerks.com, his Twitter account @laza007 or Platinum Camp Productions' Twitter account @platinumcamp for quality musical offerings and the latest releases from him.
