Young Veteran releases Rahtid 3

Young Veteran producers Sekou Davis and Sheldon Pennicock  recently released their mixtape Rahtid 3 (which you can check out here).  The mixtape features a compilation of dancehall, reggae and soca songs from artistes like Vybz Kartel, Macka Diamond, Sizzla, Luciano and Opal.

Some of the more popular songs on this project include Konshens 'Watch me Fada,' 'Street Chant' featuring Sizzla, Jah Mason Luciano and Turbulence and Vybz Kartel's 'Bubble ya mi gyal'.

"We really wanted this mixtape to appeal to every listener so there are culture songs, love ballads and something for dancehall fans to rock to in the dancehall sessions," Davis told the Jamaica Observer.

This is the third insallment of the Rahtid mix cd  for the young producers with the others being in 2010 and 2011.

Both Davis and Pennicock are in their twenties and have been producing from their Kingston based recording studio since 2006.  The University of the Technology (Utech) graduates have worked on projects with other top dancehall acts like Capelton, Mavado and Bounty Killa.

According to Young Veterans one of their most successful project was the  'Jah Protect' rhythm which was done in late 2010.

"That was what really put us on the map and gave us the exposure that we were hoping for as people became aware of who Young Veteran are," Pennicock said.

The rhythm they said received enjoyed steady rotation on the local airwaves  and featured popular artistes such as Chris Martin, Perfect, Maverick, Konshens, Garrizon, Shawn Storm, among a host of others.
