The announcement was made by the entertainer's husband via Facebook yesterday. Etana's husband commented, "Touring!!! Reggae Music Lives. The RawSoul Rebel mixtape coming out soon. Also looking forward to the birth of my daughter!!!"
Etana, whose real name is Shauna McKenzie, announced that she was married to model/actor Andre Morris in 2010.
Third trimester
According to her PR agent, Keona Williams, Etana is currently in her third trimester, and is due to give birth in October or early November. Morris told The STAR that he is looking forward to being a father. "I'm very happy that I'll be a dad.
Now the two and a half years of speculation is confirmed, I'm pretty sure I'll have the family I've always dreamed of. It's hard to find the rare combination of love and commitment that we have, and I'm looking forward to the birth of my daughter and looking forward to many years of prosperity and success with my beautiful wife," he said.
According to Etana, her husband will be a great father. "Our plan was to do different business moves etc., but we were surprised with a new life, a precious gift, and funny enough we ended up doing most, if not all we planned just the same. Jah works in mysterious ways. My husband is all smiles watching every step I make. He wants to be in every doctor's visit, rubbing my aching feet and making sure I have all I need to be comfortable. He's gonna be a great dad," the singer told THE STAR.
Etana is currently in Birmingham for a concert in celebration of Jamaica's 50th anniversary. The singer is also scheduled for appearances in Kenya later this month. Etana's new album Better Tomorrow is slated to be released next year.
