Party splashes officially into Negril

The Official and Original Water Party makes ATI debut

The Official and Original Water Party has consistently delivered top-notch entertainment to its loyal followers in Kingston and aims to do just that for its first staging at ATI. Hosted by Island Mas director Andrew Bellamy, The Official and Original Water Party is expected to thrill thousands of patrons in Negril.

According to Absolute Entertainment's Alex Chin in a Gleaner interview in June, the support for The Official and Original Water party is expected to double in Negril.

"Water Party gets five to seven thousand people in town as it is. That's one you can really rest your hand on to succeed, and that's just in Kingston. When we go to Negril, as I tell any promoter, if you get 2,000 people in Kingston - which is the average for a good Kingston event - when you go to Negril, expect it to double. So I'm afraid of what Water Party going to do when dem go Negril because dem already eclipse town numbers. Now, the entire island is looking to come to the Water Party," he said.

The event will be hosted at Water World in Negril this Sunday and will carry new features such as an all-white dress code and a super all-inclusive element.

Lucky patrons heading off to The Official and Original Water Party will also benefit from prizes and surprises based on interactive entertainment activities that are being planned by the promoters. One of these is the wet T-shirt contest, which will see the winner going home with a cash prize of $50,000.

Water trucks are expected to deliver endless amounts of the main attraction. However, for those patrons who want more than just water, the promoters have gone as far as to include water slides, body painting, and a VIP sky deck experience, which will provide premium food and drink inclusive, catering to patrons who wish to indulge.

To get access to the VIP sky deck, patrons with armbands can upgrade by paying $2,000. General admission will cost patrons $5,000. The event is free to persons holding an ATI season band, while patrons without season bands will be charged $3,500 at the gate.

The DJs booked to thrill the expected thousands with their adrenaline-packed selections are ZJ Ice from Zip 103, Chris Dymond and Lank from Code Red, DJ Kentucky from Montego Bay, DJ Sanjay from Fame 95 FM, Richie Ras, as well as breakthrough DJ Flabba Dabba.

The party will start as early as 2 p.m. and continue through to 10 p.m. The Official and Original Water Party is sponsored by Appleton Jamaica Rum, Wata, Kirov, and Pure Country, among others.

Bellamy told The Gleaner last month that he would add his flavour to the ATI formula.

"The Official and Original Water Party has proven itself in Kingston over and over. We're the largest, most consistent water-theme event/party in Kingston and St Andrew, so clearly, the energy, the vibes that we have here, is actually a replication of what takes place in Negril. So we're adding that to the ATI formula this year, and Negril will see its first version of the biggest, the best, true water-party experience," he said.
