Rupee headlines 5th annual Riddim Runway Festival

On September 22, 2012, Caribbean Carnival comes to Southwest Florida as King Leo Promotions, in association with Hotel Indigo, presents their 5th Annual Riddim Runway Festival, carnival style. The streets of downtown Fort Myers will be filled with carnival costumed-paraders and end with a benefit concert featuring international reggae and soca artists.

Riddim Runway is a fusion of live Caribbean music and fashion, and was created by King Leo Promotions as a way of giving back/giving thanks by providing support to local charities. Each year, profits from Riddim Runway are allocated to local charities. This year's beneficiaries will be Colours School of the Arts and C.C.M.I Soup Kitchen."We are proud to announce that we have once again teamed up with Hotel Indigo to bring this festival to the River District in Downtown Fort Myers," says Jessica Williams, President of Marketing and Communications for King Leo Promotions.

"Downtown Fort Myers has always been our home, we definitely feel the love here." Live music, vendors and designers will be displayed on Broadway between First and Main, with Broadway completely shut down to traffic for the event. The fashion show will feature international designers Jewel Shannon, Chila For Fun, and Mystic Creationz. There will also be a line of styling done by Mocha Mintality and Frugal Fashionista. The parade will line up on Broadway at 7:30 p.m and go down First Street, then Hendry Street, then on to Main Street and end on Broadway.

The carnival parade will be followed by a concert showcasing international soca and reggae artists including Girl Meets Boy, Glenn Blakk, Juliette Mills, Kehv, Keisha Martin, and will be headlined by international soca superstar, Rupee. "We've received a tremendous amount of support and excitement from the River District Business and the Southwest Florida community as a whole," states Stacy Lee-Williams, Vice-President of Marketing for King Leo Promotions. "It's great to see the community coming together to enjoy fashion, culture and music and at the same time helping out our local children and families."
