Down Sound Records (DSR) artiste Specialist performed for the first time in the United States this summer, marking another major achievement in his dancehall career.
The deejay's performance was well-received at a club called Albany Manor in Albany, New York, in late July. Specialist performed his number-one hits, Gallis Anthem and Phone Card, both songs eliciting a great response from the patrons in the club.
"It was my first time performing in the USA, the venue wasn't well-packed, but it was a decent-size crowd and mi love the vibes and vibrations that mi get. Mi get two big forwards from Gallis Anthem and Phone Card, and they loved my bad-man song, Bad Man Nuh Fraida Nobody ... the place shell when mi do that," he said in a release.
Last week, Specialist performed at the MoBay Jerkfest held at Catherine Hall in Montego Bay, St James. Introduced by labelmate Khago, he did an excellent job interacting with the crowd as he did his signature hits. He is particularly pleased with the response to Gallis Anthem.
"Mi really love how Gallis Anthem song boil up on the people dem, and it ah go hard right now and the reception weh mi get from any audience when mi draw it now show say it connect in the streets. It shot a MoBay, and the other day, ah eight times Flava Unit play it ah Waterford ah one Sexy Tuesdays dance," Specialist said. Specialist has been working hard in the studio on a number of upcoming projects which will be released by DSR this month.
