Diestro banks on creativity

IN Spanish, diestro means skilful. Feeling that adjective described him best, up-and-coming dancehall artiste Darin Domize chose that moniker.

“My versatility and creativity sets me apart from other artistes. I try to do positive, uplifting, radio-friendly, and exciting hard-core music that my fans appreciate,” said Diestro, 23-year-old past student of Bridgeport High School in St Catherine.

He said he started performing at age 16 and has graced most traditional high school concert stages.

“The reception I received was tremendous, so I decided to start writing my own lyrics,” he said. “Sometimes your talent finds you and not the other way around.”

Diestro has not yet been signed to any major label but has a verbal commitment.

He, however, has already voiced Him and Him [NNG group]; Girls Man [NEXX]; Yah Suh Deh Suh [Terro 3000]; Pacman; Gallis Life; Tek Time Wid U Body; and, Barrow Yuh Gyal [Dreday Productions].
