Delly Ranx has continued his incredible resurgence as a reggae artiste, building a loyal fan base in countries in Central and South America.
The Next Chapter deejay recently performed in Mexico City, on November 24, rocking a decent-sized audience with an energetic performance of his reggae and dancehall hits. He performed an impressive 90-minute set that earned a review in one of the town's major newspapers.
Medley of hits
He went on stage at 1 a.m, doing a steady medley of hits that included recent chart-burners One Away Soldier and The Next Chapter.
One of Delly Ranx's biggest hits in Mexico, Cook Hennessy, connected.
Other standout songs included If I Knew, Good Friend, Nuh Bung Dung DI Herbs, and Push Wood, a single from his critically acclaimed The Next Chapter album.
Delly Ranx's gangster dancehall songs also got great reception,
and his party songs were simply electric. He was forced to pull up Red Bull And Guinness three times. Other impressive songs included Laws Of A Gangster, Gimme Di Weed, Jiggy Time, Pelpa, Headache and Work Round Dem.
By the time he began his dancehall medley, patrons were eating out of his hand and he could do no wrong.
"The vibe in Mexico was great, they have already contacted my manager for dates in 2013," he said. Music insiders believe Delly Ranx is the leading candidate for the 'Comeback Artiste
of the Year' title with his resurgence as a serious force to be reckoned
with in reggae music.
The reggae artiste's The Next Chapter title track jumped two places to #6 this week on the HYPE TV Top 20 charts.
Since its release three months ago, the single has fast become a
favourite of reggae fans on various social media, and now it is reaping
commercial success, popping up on ethnic charts in the US, Japan, France
and Canada. The single is also bubbling on the Stampede Street Charts.
He also held the #1 position for three consecutive weeks on the Jamaica Music Countdown charts.
"Right now, it's a great look, 2013 ah go be my breakout year as a
reggae artiste. I am working on acquiring my own band, my new music
video. I am feeling great about the direction of my career," Delly Ranx
said.
