Flippa plans surprise Sting appearance

Dancehall artiste and self-styled 'flossing king' Flippa Moggela, formerly known as Flippa Mafia, will return to the Sting stage after a two-year absence.

The artiste who ripped up the dancehalls and the charts with songs including Dem Ya, Unfinished House and Star A Star, is planning a surprise performance at the annual Boxing Day event.

'I'm planning a welcome home performance for the fans. I'm going to give the people some of what they have been missing because right now the dancehall is short of the flossing and champagne flavour, fun and enjoyment", Flippa explained in a release to the media.

The artiste, who hasn't been to Jamaica in a while, has been busy making a name for himself on the dancehall scene in Philadelphia, and other parts of the United States.

Flippa has performed at Sting on numerous occasions before he became a household name.
"Sting is an important show and it basically decides who will be the hot artiste for the following year," the artiste reasoned.

Flippa has been concentrating on establishing his Flip Money Records label. He released the single We A Moggela on the label.

Additionally, there are two rhythm projects expected to be released shortly. The first project is titled Raw Moneyand it features songs from Flippa, I-Octane, Aidonia, Assassin, Capleton and others. The rhythm was built by Big Ship's Steven McGregor.

On December 30, Flippa will host a party called 'The Return of the Flossing King' at Oneil's Place on Hagley Park Road in Kingston.

His recent birthday bash held at Nifigi Nightclub in Philadelphia attracted a number of music industry heavyweights and dancehall personalities.

"People from all over came out to support the party. We had people from Los Angeles, New York, Miami, and Chicago. The party shell! Over 40 cases of champagne sold! The party tun up!" Flippa stated.
