Shawn Storm says he's not 'mental'... in letter to fans

With over one year since his incarceration, Gaza artiste Shawn 'Sivva' Storm has put pen to paper and has written a letter to his fans.

For months, rumours have been circulating that the Portmore Empire artiste, whose given name is Shawn Campbell, has been suffering from a mental illness since his arrest.

In the letter, which was obtained by THE STAR, Shawn Storm vehemently denies the rumours. He wrote:

"It is unfortunate that small-minded people are attempting to sully my name by perpetuating these vicious lies against me and my family. I would like to ask these people to desist from these terrible rumours and instead try to inspire and uplift my family rather than try to bring my family more pain."

Fashion designer and booking agent for Vybz Kartel, Calvin 'Moonie' Haye, told THE STAR that prison is a rough place.

Haye was also arrested along with Vybz Kartel for the murder of Clive Williams, but was later granted bail in the sum of $1,000,000.

"Inna dem place deh rough, you haffi just keep focused and know sey you a come out a road. You have to condition your mind and accommodate that lifestyle because you are around a new set of persons. You can't focus too much on what is on the outside world because that will be too much for your mind. Shawn Storm is good and in high spirits, a just people love say things, but Shawn good," Moonie said

While Shawn Storm has denied being ill, he also thanked his fans for their continued support and letters.

Shawn Storm catapulted to fame in 2010 with the release of his single My Life. He is scheduled to return to court on November 12.
