Truckback's 'Street Pledge' doing well

The song came in a dream, but Truckback Records' Adrian Locke says his new production Street Pledge has been getting great reception.

The song, Locke said, was sung by Ding Dong, New Kidz and Baby Chris and is a dancehall version of Fun's We Are Young.

"The song came to me in a dream and I woke up the next morning and started putting pen to paper. I dreamt that I saw Baby Chris and New Kidz doing the song," he told THE STAR.

When the two got together to do the song, Locke said Ding Dong was also at the studio and said he wanted to be on the rhythm. Not wanting the beat to have more than one song, he said he allowed all three artistes to do the song together.

Since the premiere of the music video about three weeks ago, Locke says the song has been doing well.

"The song can't play in peace without it being pulled up several times," he said, noting that the song was number 15 on UK's Choice FM.

"Everywhere saying Street Pledge. Beenie and Bounty seh Street Pledge. DJs and selectors are loving Street Pledge."

While the song gains momentum, Locke says he is now putting the finishing touches on New Kidz's album. He says he is also gearing up to release another song with all three artistes called Party Life. The next dancehall project that he will release is the 'Muffler' rhythm.
