Virgo serves it up on Baileys Day

ON Friday night, Romain Virgo had patrons at the Redbones Blues Café entranced as they sang along with him at the World Baileys Day show at the popular Kingston venue.

During the first half of his set, the 22-year-old - who matures musically with each performance - thrilled his audience with popular songs like: Rain is Falling, Taking You Home, Love Doctor, and Rich in Love.

Virgo set a romantic mood for the ladies, several of whom clutched their partners. He hit a perfect note when he belted the lyrics to R Kelly's When a Woman Loves and Adelle's Don't You Remember.

Later, he was joined on stage by Guyanese singer Timeka Marshall, Sherita Lewis, D Major, Esco Levi, and Loyal Flames whose performances all went over well.

Virgo wrapped things up with his new single, You See You Mouth, and Feel Like Letting Go.

Earlier, Mandeville's Jamvybz All Star Band captivated the audience with melodies and beats ranging from reggae, jazz to calypso.

World Baileys Day was celebrated under the theme 'Dubbed with Spirit'. Several patrons were treated to samples of Baileys cheesecake.

"This medium just serves as an opportunity for consumers to enjoy Baileys in a relaxed environment," Marsha Lumley, Baileys brand manager, told the Jamaica Observer.

Redbones is celebrating its 15th anniversary.
