THREE organisations based in New York and the United Kingdom will present a live show next week aimed at discouraging domestic violence.
DJT Promotions and Sunlight Productions from New York, and Global Harmony, a charity organisation from the UK, have joined forces with reggae and dancehall artistes to promote the White House Culture Jam which takes place August 17 at White House Beach Park in Westmoreland.
George O'Gilvie of DJT Promotions spoke recently about the show's focus.
"Domestic violence is a very serious problem all over the world. So together with our partners we have decided to join the fight against domestic violence," he said.
Funds from the inaugural White House Culture Jam will go to the Domestic Violence Crisis Center in Kingston.
O'Gilvie says during the show, medical supplies will be presented to the Bustamante Children's Hospital, Savanna-la-mar Hospital, Black River Hospital and the Portland Infirmary.
Gyptian, Lady G, Luciano, I Wayne, Lutan Fyah, Lazah Current and Fabian Marley are some of the artistes confirmed for the show. They will be backed by the Chakula Band.
