Thousands of patrons made their way to Cayenne Beach, Negril, for the recently staged Dream Live concert during the Dream Week events.
Amid heightened anticipation and weeks of preparation, the partygoers were happily satisfied with the line-up and the entertainment that they were treated to.
Among the night's headliners were Aidonia, Konshens, Baby Cham and I-Octane. The night began with musical selections from the Coppershot Disco, Crazy Neil and DJ Nicco who got the momentum going and made way for the sexy Smirnoff ladies who showed off their dance skills. An outstanding performance by reggae act Teflon, who showed a lot of maturity, commanded the attention of the capacity crowd. The Nuh Compatible artiste, Bugle, was well received and made his fans proud as he lived up to his Sumfest performance, while Chris Martin thrilled his female fans with a string of love songs.
The patrons were singing in tandem with Martin as he reeled off hit after hit. Baby Cham, who got to the stage at 1 a.m., had his fans in a musical trance as he hurled out the lyrics to songs like Babylon Bwoy, Doing It, Vitamin S and Ghetto Story. The Ting ladies were pretty in green as they also made an imposing statement at the event, walking through the crowd with Ting and Pepsi on hand for thirsty patrons to enjoy.
Aidonia immediately followed and the females were only too happy to show their flexibility with songs like Six Thirty, Tip Pon You Toe and others. The male fans were not left hanging as they saluted to songs like Bad Anywey, Evil Head and Bad People.
Catalogue of hits
The screams were almost deafening when Konshens' voice emerged over the microphone. The females in the VIP section rushed to the front of the stage, some with outstretched arms hoping to get a touch of the entertainer.
Among the songs from his catalogue of hits were Sidung (a collaboration with Darrio), Gyal a Bubble, I'm Coming and Couple Up. He was later joined onstage by Delus who performed his hit single, What Tomorrow May Bring.
After Konshens' electrifying set came I-Octane and as expected, the lighters and spray cans were ignited when he sang Lose a Friend, Badmind Dem A Pree and My Story.
Every patron was fixed on the stage as I-Octane entertained his fans for approximately 15 minutes as the curtains came down on Smirnoff Dream Live.
According to Leleika Barnes, assistant brand manager for Smirnoff, the turnout is phenomenal and the event was superb.
"We are certainly happy with the support we got from consumers. Smirnoff has contributed to the creation of an amazing experience for them in the form of the Smirnoff Dream week and we are happy that they came out to enjoy it. We look forward to the other events for the weekend and promise consumers more of the same great fun," Barnes said.
