Dancehall's newest slang general, Quick Cook, has responded to recent jabs from Popcaan with the release of the single 'No Day'.
The song, produced by Panta Son on his 'Brave Step' rhythm, which also features Darrio, G-Maffiah and Chan Dizzy, has already gathered momentum on social-media site YouTube and other dancehall-affiliated websites.
At his birthday bash party in Portmore in St Catherine, Popcaan took to the stage and once again referred to Quick Cook in a derogatory manner while singing the hit song Party Shot.
Gone sour
The song features an intro by Quick Cook as well as the line, "Hear mi nuh Quick Cook, tell mi how di thing look," by Popcaan.
Quick Cook was also, for some time, a part of Popcaan's road team. However, in recent months things have gone sour between the two and, on several occasions, Popcaan has changed the words, to refer to Quick Cook as 'Fish Cook', a Jamaican term for homosexuals.
Quick Cook's response follows two released YouTube videos, warning the former Gaza-deejay to refrain from using his name in a disrespectful manner.
Musical feud
The videos have gone viral over YouTube, Twitter and on various Facebook pages including those of the two men.
However the producer, Panta Son, real name Taj-Vaughn Johnson, said the song must only be viewed as another musical feud.
"Like all dancehall clashes over the years, this one is pure musical. The song is a hard-core response to Popcaan's claim and the public is already running with it," he said.
Both Quick Cook and Popcaan have publicly commented on their fallout.
