Jamaica'smost successful and award-winning beach party series, Rum-Bar Chug It, is currently taking measures to alleviate the strain that some parents in Portmore, St Catherine and its neighbouring communities are experiencing as a result of back-to-school expenses.
This as the organisers of the event are scheduled to host a charity edition which will see proceeds going towards helping with this venture.
Representatives from Winner's Entertainment, the organisers of Rum-Bar Chug It, are currently visiting schools in Portmore in an effort to get details of parents whose students continue to perform well, but are experiencing strain in supporting the cost associated with school fees and schoolbooks.
So on Sunday, the Sugarman's Beach in Portmore, St Catherine, will come alive with the Charity Edition of Chug It. Danchall reggae artiste Sizzla is expected to perform at the event.
Following this, it is projected that some 2,815 students will benefit.

In addition to this, they say Rum-Bar Chug It is also the favourite among the Jamaican people and some tourists for its continued effort in supporting the local music industry. I-Octane, Bounty Killer, Lady Saw, Beenie Man and Aidonia, among others, are some of the reggae and dancehall giants who continue to perform at the event occasionally.
