Malawi's #1 Reggae Artist Collaborates With Karamanti
Though the Reggae scene in South East Africa is not as huge as it is in West Africa, there are some who continue to grow the industry in this region by their tireless commitment to making real Reggae music much like that coming out of Jamaica. One such is Malawi native, Blasto Imva, more popularly referred to as Blasto. Growing up listening to Reggae and Dancehall icons such as; Beenie Man, Buju Banton, Jimmy Cliff, Garnet Silk, Bounty Killa, Sizzla Kalonjie , Capleton, Junior kelly, Anthony B, Vybz Kartel and lots more, Blasto has dedicated his life to Reggae/Dancehall and it shows. He is currently the number one Reggae/Dancehall artist in the entire Malawi.
Blasto Imva is now setting his sights on achieving recognition outside of his country, as such; he has collaborated with Jamaican artist Karamantion a track entitled “show love”. The song was produced by BFB (also based in Malawi) and is a part of a rhythm driven compilation.

Roots Queen Cancels Jamaica Trip Due To Accident
German based Reggae artist Roots Queen has had to cancel her trip to Jamaica due to an accident she had on the 12th of November. After extensive x-rays it is now confirmed that she has ankle ligament damage and will be unable to walk for six weeks. The artist was scheduled to be on the island from November 27th 2013 through February 22nd 2014 and would have been accompanied by her manager, Steve Stephens. Although Roots Queen spent leisure time in Jamaica before, this trip would have been a business one as she planned to promote her first studio album, “Powerful Energy”, which was released on September 24th.
Based on the turn of events, Roots Queen’s manager, Steve Stephens, is now focusing his attention on bookings for her in 2014. They have decided that they will postpone the trip to Jamaica until March and in the meantime is inviting anyone wanting to work with Roots Queen to contact them via email at karmamedia9@gmail.com or rootsqueenmusic@gmail.com

Morgan Heritage Official Statement To The Media "As Rastafarians, We do not sit on any side of the political divide"
OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM MORGAN HERITAGE:
Morgan Heritage would like to clarify that the dubplate of our hugely popular hit 'Reggae Bring Back Love' was done “fi Jamaica" as Peetah clearly states in the intro.
Morgan Heritage has an abiding love for Jamaica and would have done a similar dubplate for anyone. The fact that we sing about our ideals of bringing back love and making Jamaica a better place in the song Reggae Bring Back Love, which was recorded 13 years ago, and happens to be the same message of anyone today, only speaks to our belief of a better Jamaica and not any political views.
As is the norm on a dubplate, names are called, but everyone knows that this is not an indication of support or personal endorsement and should not be taken as such. While we wish the campaigners all the best, Morgan Heritage has not taken a position of support for any of the contenders and we do not endorse any politician or any political party.
As Rastafarians, Morgan Heritage does not sit on any side of the political divide. We do not dabble in politics, but like all Jamaicans, we are concerned about some of the things taking place in our beloved country.
Our message of unity, love, respect for self and respect for authority remains unchanged and we will continue to work to effect a change for the better as a part of our musical mission.
We note that this mission has extended into all areas, including the sporting arena, and it was with much joy that we learned that Ends Nah Meet, a single from our latest album, Here Come The Kings, was selected as the official theme song for the CONCACAF Women's Under-17 Championship, following Jamaica's last leg of FIFA's World Cup Trophy Tour.
We give thanks to Jamaica for endorsing Morgan Heritage.
Danielle D.I. Hits U.S. Tour with Gyptian
Dancehall’s rebel, Danielle D.I. returns to the island after impressive performances alongside international reggae star, Gyptian. The Sex, Love and Reggae U.S. tour was a success.
“I am grateful to Gyptian for endorsing my talent. It’s a tremendous opportunity to have a world class act’s support. He has been in my shoe and understands the journey I’m taking. He presently has the number one reggae album on the Billboard charts, and is the only Jamaican to sell Gold in the past eight years; numbers never lie, so I’m deeply appreciative to be under his wings,” she said.
Danielle D.I. completed solid sets for the capacity crowds. The turnout was phenomenal for every one of the events. The audience sang along, while dancehall’s bad girl performed her hit tracks: Beat It, Rebel, Pat It Up and My Man.
“I had no idea I would get such positive responses. It was overwhelming at times. One of my favorite stops was performing at S.O.B.’s in Manhattan. I could feel the love while on stage and after the show. Fans showed excitement in meeting me, to get my autograph and to take pictures. Words can’t explain how it feels when they sing back my old songs to me, it’s a joy!” Danielle D.I. exclaims.
