On Saturday's result show, it was Ariel Lafayette from the R&B/soul team who had to exit Digicel Stars that was filmed at TVJ studios, Lyndhurst Road, St Andrew.
At the start of the show, the mentors cited reasons why their contestants should remain in the competition. A very confident Conroy Wilson, for instance, said: "So far we have seen from the beginning that the pop team has been bringing it every week."
It seems he wasn't off target as Ashley Donaldson from the pop team was the first contestant whose name was called, securing her place in the next live show. She was followed by the bubbly Trudy-Ann Harrison from the Jamaican Sound team, who was applauded by the audience.
It came down to Ariel and John-Ross Austin from the gospel team. Both contestants held on to their microphones nervously as they waited to hear the results.
Ariel's mentor D-Major noted that she had a lot to offer but was bothered by nerves on the previous live show. Carlene Davis, who mentors the gospel team, said John-Ross is passionate in his relationship with the Lord.
Despite the kind words from her mentor, Ariel was sent packing while John-Ross was able to remain in the competition for another week.
"To everybody that supported me and voted," Ariel said, before closing the show with Celine Dion's Power Of Love.
