Lady Luscious is back in Jamaica promoting her single, Yu Waan Know. She has been doing radio and TV promotions to amp up interest in the single, even as she prepares to perform at the annual 'St Mary Mi Come From' concert.
"Things have been going well. I love the reactions I am getting in the streets since I've been back," Lady Luscious, also known as Jannett Scott, said.
Since her return to Jamaica, she has judged the finals of the annual Ms Port Antonio contest, donating gift bags to all the contestants, as well as $5,000 and a cellphone to the winner.
Upcoming stint
One of the main highlights of her trip to Jamaica will be her upcoming stint at the annual 'St Mary Mi Come From' concert for the second consecutive year. "I feel great because I am on the poster this time. So I am looking forward to performing a nice set with my songs such as Yu Waan Know, which has a video showing on CVM now, and Tragedy, which also has a video. I just want to thank Capleton and Ms Kemp for this great opportunity," she said.
Lady Luscious is known for the singles Later My Friend and Yu Waan Know, which have done well in the reggae market in Canada. She recently won two awards, one of which was established by Princess Promotion International for Women Achievers for 2012, and a recognition award for her contribution and support to reggae music from the Reggae Exclusive magazine out of Canada.
She plans to establish a scholarship, which she will call the JAAMM (Janet, Alesha, Ashley, Monique McKnight) scholarship, dedicated to the memory of Jannett Scott's daughter Aleisha Ashley and her best friend, Monique Mcknight, who both died in June 2007 in a horrific car crash in Toronto."This is a scholarship that will help to empower youths in school by helping university-age students who are struggling through school to pay for textbooks," she said.
