The rhythm, which was released in July as part of the famous disc jockey's summer projects, already features top ball players from both reggae and dancehall with a few more noticeable figures yet to voice.
This is not the first time that the much- talked-about Zip Jock has released a rhythm. His last project, prior to PreRelease, was the Ilabash rhythm which featured Vybz Kartel's Dem Bwoy and Konshens' Nah Vote, among others. PreRelease, with tracks from Mavado, Sizzla Kalonji, Mr G and Chico, Demarco, I-Octane, Raine Seville, Khago, Delly Ranx, Ninja Kid and Elephant Man, gives one that authentic dancehall vibe when listening.
The project, according to ZJ Liquid, is a continued contribution to dancehall music. He said that people are already text messaging positive comments relating to his new project. A lot of people think that this rhythm is authentic dancehall material. This, for me, is a continuation of what Liquid has been doing over the years as it relates to producing music," he said.
PreRelease rhythm is one of the many summer projects Liquid has undertaken. Another is his fortnightly Guinness PreRelease party inside Quad, which the deejay uses to play some of the newest dancehall materials that are yet to touch into the streets. The series, so far, has been a success as each staging has seen an increase of patrons' attendance.
Liquid, real name Michael Brissett, feels the idea can grow into something mega in the near future."The idea is Jamaican. It gives young artistes a window to operate and push through their music. I think this will grow big in the near future," he said.
