"Tomahawk" touches US
Grammy Award-winning artiste Sean Paul's latest album, Tomahawk Technique, is set for September release in the United States.
The album has been generating traction in the Caribbean, Asia, and European release in June with the hit singles She Doesn't Mind and Got 2 Luv U.
Tomahawk Technique is predominantly hybrid dancehall merged with hip-hop, pop and techno tempos.
Good Times: 'House Paarty'
Heineken Good Times returns on Saturday, August 25 with its 'House Paarty' edition and promises to be one of the best staging for 2012 series.
The event commences at 9:00 p.m at the New Mas Camp at the National Stadium grounds in St Andrew.
The event will see a return of the retro game room and patrons are encouraged to revive old passions like Donkey Kong, and Space Invaders.
Red Bull Thre3Style DJ Competition
The Red Bull Thre3Style DJ Competition kicks off at Club Riddim, New Kingston on Saturday August 25. Show starts at 10:00 p.m.
Hosted by the Hype Man Leftside, six of Jamaica's top DJs will have just 15 minutes to prove their musical mastery as they compete to blend at least three genres of music and win over the crowd.
Now taking place in 18 countries, DJs are proud to be chosen to battle for a spot in the highly anticipated finals.
The deejays are: DJ Sanjay; DJ Narity; DJ Nicco; DJ Karim; DJ Richie; and, DJ Timeless.
Marcus Garvey floral tribute
THE Jamaica Cultural Development Commission will commemorate the 125th anniversary of the birth of the Right Excellent Marcus Mosiah Garvey with a floral tribute at National Heroes Park tomorrow at 8:00 am.
Special guests include the son of the late National Hero, Dr Julius Garvey, an accomplished vascular surgeon. He will join a number of officials including the Governor General Sir Patrick Allen and the Minister of Youth and Culture, Lisa Hanna who will be placing floral tributes on Garvey’s Shrine
