Advoket's reggae cover doing well

Attorney and reggae artiste Charles 'Advoket' Ganga-Singh has made it to, and is climbing at least one international chart with his reggae cover of Japanese-Canadian pop artiste Justin Nozuka's 'After Tonight'.

The song has been climbing the New York Reggae Chart steadily for the last few weeks. Founder of the 37-year-old chart, Clinton Lindsay said the song has been steadily moving up having entered the charts eight weeks ago at number 29 and climbing to number 14.

Lindsay said that the reggae cover is getting regular rotation in the north eastern belt of the United States and a number of cities in the United Kingdom.

"Based on the trend in which the song has been climbing the charts, I don't doubt that it would make the top ten in a matter of weeks," said Lindsay.

"He's not being played by Foundation Radio Network from which I operate but he is being played by other disc jockeys in New York, Newark, and New Jersey in North America and several cities in England," Lindsay said.

The reggae version of After Tonight has surpassed popular songs from artistes such as Snoop Lion's La la la, Junior Gong's Affairs of the Heart, Freddie McGregor You Won't See Me, and Tarrus Riley's Original Dancehall.

Topping the chart with She Doesn't Mind is Sean Paul who has been on the chart for 10 weeks.

Advoket's After Tonight also sits at number 13 on the Stampede Street Top Charts and number six on the local Hype TV VTX countdown.
