Devious wants to be the best

UP-AND-COMING deejay Devious is determined to be the best in his craft.

A former student of the Calabar High School in St Andrew, Devious [whose given name is Mario Mundle] was the captain for the school's Pepsi Cup football team in 2002. He, however, decided to make the transition due to his love of music.

"During different periods at school, my friends and I would have deejay clashes. That helped to boost my confidence," the 24-year-old explained.

He said at first, his parents objected with the idea of him doing music. However, they eventually warmed up to it.

After high school, he studied entertainment and events management at the Heart Trust/NTA at Gordon Town campus in St Andrew.

"So if it wasn't music, I would still be in entertainment because that's where my heart is," he said.

Currently signed to G3 Musick label, Devious describes his music as a definition of his struggle and lifestyle.

He said his tune Still A Party released last year on the After Summer riddim has given him some exposure.

Devious is currently working on his latest mixtape which is to be released in December.

"This mixtape will be providing the listeners with fun and happy music. A name hasn't been decided yet but all in due time," he said.
