Mavado records sexy duet with Karian Sang

Following the premiere of his 'So Suicidal' video featuring DJ Khaled and Birdman, 'We The Best' dancehall star Mavado continues to gain traction on the international stage with the release of 'Take It', featuring R&B act Karian Sang.

The track which was exclusively premiered by ZIP FM's ZJ Chrome this month, has received positive reviews and is poised to be a major hit, says the song's producer Troyton Hinds of Troyton Music.

"Mavado said he wanted to do a collab track with Karian and, within a few days, we had a beat and vocals. The energy and creativity is evidenced in the result. It has a great sound and the response has been fantastic," he said.

Almost a year to date from his hit production with US R&B star Neyo on the I Know You Want Me Remix, Troyton admits a similar confidence in his newest work.

International audiences

"The song definitely has a wide-range appeal and will appease local and international audiences. They are great artistes and there is a lot of buzz surrounding them both - with his new record deal, Mavado is a certified global act and Karian is fresh talent as well as the much-talked-about female star of Mavado's So Suicidal/Aktion Pak video. The track will be available on iTunes this week as well as there are talks in train for a video."

Following his latest effort with Mavado and Karian, Troyton says he has several additional hard-hitting projects on his agenda, including a medley video for his Lotus Flower rhythm which also features his signed artiste Dreama; a one-drop rhythm with confirmed acts Tarrus Riley, I-Octane, Voicemail and Jah Vinci, as well as a potential gospel mix. "My style is very dynamic and we've been experimenting with a wide range of sounds from reggae to gospel including work with Papa San, Chevelle Franklin and Omari. I am not limited by genre; I'm just here to make good music."

Chart toppers

And, indeed, he has been making an impactful sound, producing chart toppers in Kenya as well as for New York's Hot 97 FM, UK's BBC Radio1Extra and Miami's 99Jams. He also stands as the tour de force behind a slew of dancehall's popular sounds, including the Nightlife Rhythm (DeMarco - Nuh Di Worst, Mavado - We Nuh Scared; Dreama - You Alone) and Lotus Flower Rhythm (Chris Martin - Hotter Than Them, Alaine - Magnet, ZJ Liquid - Broadout, Mr G featuring Konshens - So Sexy).
