Chevaughn to release new solo songs

Having placed much focus on C-Sharp for most of this year, the group's leader, singer Chevaughn Clayton, says he is busy releasing new solo songs.

As a solo artiste, Clayton has collaborated with Ding Dong on Holiday. He has also done songs like Music and Tables that featured Craig Jackson, Ding Dong and Chris Martin.

However, since the start of the year he has been doing a lot of work with C-Sharp, including tours in Korea and Europe during the summer.

Since his return, Clayton has been releasing several songs and has also been getting good reception for tracks such Nobody Knows, Man For The Job and Free featuring Chronixx. He says he is also planning to do music videos for these songs by the end of the month.

Clayton says he has also been doing work with producers like Christopher Birch, Notice Productions and Stephen McGregor.

"I am just building my catalogue and finding new markets. I haven't been doing much of Chevaughn," he said.

"I have been doing a lot of recording and just making sure that I work with a lot of producers."
In addition, he said there was some buzz months ago for songs like Those Days with deejay Busy Signal, and When You Are Here. Clayton said there were even plans to do a music video with Busy Signal but those plans had to be scrapped after the entertainer was arrested. The deejay is now serving a six-month jail term for absconding bail on drug charges dating back to 2002.

While the emphasis is on his solo career for now, he says this will not affect his work with C-Sharp.
"Being the lead singer for C-Sharp does not stop me from being Chevaughn and C-Sharp is very supportive," he told THE STAR.
