Hollywood celebrities tweet Jamaican deejay!

It was probably just another studio experience for Black Mattic when he recorded the single I Got Hooked. In it, he expressed his obsession and love for music that he has been doing for almost a decade.

But it appears that is not only Black Mattic, a Jamaican dancehall now residing in New York, who has been hooked to his work over the years. The 24-year-old has been noticed by the wider public, including Hollywood celebrities Bryce Wilson, Michael Williams and World Wrestling Federation star Edge.

I Got Hooked music video was directed by Kellon 'Kellz' McIntosh but was edited by Black Mattic. The song was produced by the deejay's Official Hitz Music Group recording company. The video brings back memories of a vintage Jay-Z, the popular American rapper who is known widely for his rich and classy music delivery.

It was posted on YouTube last Tuesday and within the first three days it had received over 50,000 views and public endorsement from Hollywood. It came as no surprise for the deejay though, as Superstar, his lead single, has gone well over a million views since it was released in June.

Wilson, from the HBO series 'The Wire', went out and tweeted twice saying "there's one person I'm really looking forward in working with and that's Black Mattic, he's sick with it" and "gonna get in the studio with the homey Black Mattic for my Jamaican movie set in November".

Michael Williams, who starred in the movie Beauty Shop which features Queen Latifah, tweeted "big up to Black Mattic for doing a great job now, a real superstar". Edge tweeted "big up to my brother Black Mattic killing it right now".

Black Mattic, a former Norman Manley high student, began his professional career in 2008 but his popularity has sky-rocketed since this year in several parts of the US, France, Germany, Italy, China, the Caribbean and more recently Jamaica.

Mike Leonard, MTV Network's executive producer and director for Black Mattic's Superstar music video, was also full of praises for the Jamaican. Commending him for his work so far, Leonard tipped Black Mattic to be the next dancehall music star to represent the island globally.

"He is definitely a smart and hard working person. It was very easy working with Black Mattic for Superstar music video. The track is a very catchy song, as before the day ended my staff (Over the Edge Productions) was singing the song word for word. I believe he will a global star if he continues like this," said Leonard back in June.
