Tommy Vybez does Tecky Wine

CANADIAN-based singjay Tommy Vybez is aiming to be numbered among dancehall's elite.

He feels his newest single Tecky Wine, featuring Deva Bratt, will assist in his quest. The artiste intends to visit Jamaica next month for a promotional tour.

"I am currently working with Deva Bratt. We are working on major projects geared at breaking into the international market with Jamaica as the launching pad," said Tommy Vybez, whose given name is Noel Dias.

Tommy Vybez - who attended McGrath High School in Linstead, St Catherine and migrated over decade ago - is part of the trio Jermaine Squad but has been embarking on solo projects recently.

He has since released Buff Up Buff Up, One More Chance, Balance It, and Bruk Off the Ting.

He said the similarity of his name with two dancehall deejays is coincidental as he had the name since high school.

"I don't like to get embroiled in controversy but I can point out that I have works registered under the name Tommy Vybez for years before some persons came on the scene," he said.

As for his music, he said he does not promote violence.

"I sing about women and their attributes," he said. "We are coming with a modern vibes It will be a smoother blend of dancehall music geared at relating to all."
