He said he was detained by immigration police and told he was wanted for various crimes including drug trafficking, murder and illegal firearm possession.
"They told me that's what was showing up on the system for me," Chuck Fenda told the Jamaica Observer.
During his ordeal, Fenda stated that airport officials asked if he had ever lived in Canada, to which he responded no. He said the only country besides Jamaica he resided for an extended period was the United States.
He said airport authorities eventually discovered that Chuck Fenda shared the same name and birthday with another Jamaican national.
Chuck Fenda added that officials told him should he return to Canada, he may face similar investigation.
"They say the record is attached to my name so I will always be subjected to this kind of scrutiny," he said.
The entertainer is considering taking the matter to the Canadian High Commission in Kingston.
Born in Brooklyn, Chuck Fenda's best known songs include Coming Over Tonight with Cherine Anderson and Gash Dem and Light Them.
