However, the soft-spoken singer is not about to let the hype get to his head.
The talented young man who hails from the hills of St Catherine is all about making good quality reggae music and taking his message to the people all over the world.
"Although the music business is very competitive I don't see music as a competition. Iba Mahr is on a mission and that mission is to spread a positive message to the people through reggae music, and that's what I do every time I record a song or touch the stage," he said.
Iba Mahr is slated to perform on the second night of Rebel Salute on Saturday, January 12 at Richmond Estate in St Ann. As expected, he is looking forward to his appearance on the prestigious event, which is staged annually by cultural reggae icon Tony Rebel.
"I'm ready to blaze the Rebel Salute stage and perform for my people. I plan to give the fans a hundred percent of Iba Mahr or even more at Rebel Salute."
Iba Mahr has been very busy in recent times recording several new songs which will be released during the course of the year. He is currently promoting a number of singles which were recently released including Sound The Alarm, Let Jah Lead The Way, A Lot Of Love and The Time Is Now featuring Jahmali.
