The event will showcase the best seafood and entertainment Jamaica has to offer and is expected to attract crowds in the thousands. From 10 a.m. to midnight, the public will enjoy seafood dishes and products prepared by the most iconic culinary talents from across the island.

The festival will be held on Ash Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Catherine Hall Entertainment Centre, and all proceeds will go to the We Care organization at the Cornwall Regional Hospital. We Care is a non-profit, philanthropic organisation dedicated to remedying the regional hospital's dire need for additional manpower, basic health-care equipment and infrastructure upgrades.

Vendors from Hellshire to Middle Quarters to Port Royal will be among those highlighted throughout the day.

At the beginning of Lent, this seafood festival will feature all-day entertainment, including stilt walkers, dancers, face painting, fair ground rides and an organised children's village. Local artistes will perform throughout the day alongside comedians Ity and Fancy Cat and stellar headlining acts of I-Octane, Romain Virgo, Prodigal Son, Ken Boothe, Tifa, Chronixx and Beenie Man.

Rainforest Seafoods and the festival's main sponsors - Red Stripe, Pepsi, Digicel, Scotiabank, National Bakery and CB Chicken - are determined to play their part in the effort to raise much-needed funds for this worthy cause.

The festival will be an epicurean delight and will highlight the best of Rainforest's diverse seafood offerings through well-known restaurants and chefs, including Scotchies, The Pelican Grill, Fish Pot, Pier One, Mobay Proper, Spring Garden Cafe among many others.
