Jammy and Forbes recuperating!!

LLOYD 'King Jammy' James, producer/engineer, and artiste tour manager, Copeland Forbes, are recuperating quite nicely after both suffered heart attacks while in Europe late last month.

Bobby 'Digital' Dixon, producer and a close friend of James, confirmed that 'King Jammy' was back in the island and was resting at home.
'Jammy' suffered a mild heart attack while performing at the Garance Festival in France in July.

In the meantime, Forbes - who is recuperating at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in London after a "minor surgery" - is in high spirits.

"I must say many thanks to Allen Spriggs (production manager) who, after hearing me complaining of the pain in my stomach for several days, insisted on calling the medics and ambulance to take me to the hospital," Forbes told the Jamaica Observer.

Forbes left the island for London on July 23, where he has been closely connected with arrangements for the 'Respect Jamaica 50', a live concert series in London's 02 Arena, featuring 50 artistes, and produced and promoted by AEG. The concert lasted from July 25 to August 9.

Forbes also expressed thanks to AEG Live, a subsidiary of the giant AEG company, for a "very well-organised and well-presented" concert series.

"I know for sure the very hard work it took to put this project together, for such an important occasion as Jamaica 50 anniversary celebration. I can assure you that all the artistes appreciated the hard-working AEG Live staff, led by Rob Hallett, in giving them the opportunity to participate in such a wonderful experience that will go down in history as one of the most memorable events celebrating Jamaica 50," Forbes said.

Artistes on the show included: Sly & Robbie, Shaggy, Stephen, Damion and Julian Marley, Bob Andy, Marcia Griffiths, John Holt, Tarrus Riley, Morgan Heritage, Freddie McGregor, the Mighty Diamonds, Maxi Priest, Toots Hibbert, John Holt, Leroy Sibblies, U-Roy, and Mutabaruka.

He also thanked Rob Hallett and his wife "for visiting and uplifting his spirit prior to surgery".
He is expected to return home as soon as he is released from hospital.
