Despite the heavy influx of entertainment events in Ocho Rios,
St Ann, over the Heroes weekend, Guinness Ochi Explosion, with its
double format of party and stage show, was always destined to be a
winner.
And so it was Saturday night at Margaritaville Ocho Rios as ZJ Liquid, DJ Smurf, Boom Boom, Illusion and Ashile kept patrons rocking on the beach from 10 o'clock.
Despite a slight drizzle before 1 a.m., the crowd continued its build-up towards show time, which came after two. The first real talent on stage was Downsound Records' artiste Nature who delighted the audience with World Peace and Trying Man.
Specialist performed Street Hustle before inviting Ishawna to perform the duet Do For Love, which was well received.
Jah Vinci delivered, Food Karteldelighted during his short spell while Zamunda made a significant impact with Same Type Of People, Science Dem A Work, Wide World and his monster hit, Jah Love Surround Me.
With his team giving away CDs and photos prior to his performance, Konshens' appearance on stage was hugely anticipated by the expectant audience.
During his limited time on stage the artiste, who has several current songs on rotation, took the audience back to the early days of his career with Winner and also delivered other hits such as Bubble Gal and Do Supm. He later invited Darrio on stage for the collab effort, Gal Siddung. Darrio also performed his hit, School Fee.
With the rain coming down Tommy Lee closed the show, delivering several of his hits such as Psycho and Some Bwoy.
