After the wonderful success of 2011's breakout hit-spawning 'Overproof' rhythm, many wondered if they could do it again, but it appears, that they have been able to overcome the sophomore slump because Overtime's cool keyboard synths, liquid groove and bubbling bassline have made it a staple in the dancehall.
The ever-reliable Mavado leads out the Overtime rhythm with his ode to Caribbean girls, his song fitting perfectly on the grooving bassline of the rhythm.
"The song shot, and the video ah go mad because it features several different girls representing different ethnicities and Caribbean nations, pure beautiful girls. The video was directed by Scorpio 21 so yu know the concept mad. Mavado had a really good time shooting the video," Samuels said in a release.
The song has been bubbling on several local charts, and has popped up on a dancehall chart in Kenya. The single has already generated over 100,000 views on YouTube so far.
Mavado recently premiered his So Suicidal video featuring DJ Khaled and Birdman to rave reviews. In the meantime, the We The Best dancehall star continues to gain traction on the international stage with the release of Take It, featuring R&B act Karian Sang.
