Tafari's 'Money In My Pocket' single has been remixed with two legendary Jamaican artistes being featured.
The track, which was released earlier this year, was remixed couple weeks ago. It features reggae legend Big Youth and dancehall icon Beenie Man. Money In My Pocket remix was produced by the Florida-based Noah Mason.
The remix will be released by Tafari's independent label Rud3 Music and distributed by VP Records. The remix will be coming out next year. An EP for Money In My Pocket, which will feature other songs, like Fire, Heartbeat Of The City, Cloud 9 with Cecile and Reason Why with Isat, will also be released in the coming year.
The original track for Money In My Pocket is currently available on iTunes and is said to be doing extremely well.
Tafari, born Zambo Buchanan, said he's very excited about the
collaboration which he thinks again shows that music has no preferences
for creed or generation.
"The remix shows that different generation of music and genre can
come together and make good music, regardless of the gap. It also shows
that I am doing good music because you don't easily get two giants on a
track like that," Tafari said.
The fast-rising reggae/dancehall artiste also believes the remix
will bring the track much more attention than what it's getting
currently. "The track is a very good track but it is being overlooked.
That is why I remixed it," he said.
According to Tafari, when he approached Beenie Man with the idea,
the self-proclaimed 'King of the Dancehall' immediately took a liking
to the story. "Beenie Man told me he already liked the song, so it was
easy to get him to voice on the remix," he said.
Big Youth, who is also Tafari's father, sounded very youthful in
his piece on the remix. The almost-four-decade reggae chanter expressed
plenty of optimism about the successes of the Money In My Pocket remix.
"This is a good remix. I, Tafari and Beenie Man really ripped it.
People must look out for it because it will be a great listen," he
said.
