Cashflow's new rhythm features dancers only

Popular dancehall/reggae producers Cashflow Records have released a new rhythm called the Leggo, which features only dancers who have also added deejaying to their repertoire.

According to Cashflow producer DJ Neil, Cashflow is about finding unique concepts.

"The concept came about from Over Mars, a dancer-turned-deejay. Him link mi and seh him have a song name Best Pon Two Foot, and he was also promoting it as a slang. We had the Leggo Rhythm (check the full riddim here) in the library already and it was perfect for it," DJ Neil explained.

"When we recorded the song, the result was good, and we decided to go for a dancer-turned-deejay concept," he continued.

Something new

"Cashflow is about concept, so we went for something new, and we decided to record Ding Dong, Chi Ching Ching, and Quick Cook because he has a lot of slangs on the streets," DJ Neil said.

The producer disclosed that the method of promotion for the Leggo rhythm was also unorthodox in order to get the stamp of approval from the hardcore dancehall fans.

"We decided to do promotions in the streets. Normally, people would blast on radio, but we just made a street team with road manager Kevin Slaughter, and we are at every street event each night doing promotions. We are building it from the street up, and now we are getting support from radio DJs," Neil said.

The Cashflow producer also revealed that the rhythm is already getting rave reviews and brings a fresh flavour coming out of a saturated summer.

"The response has been great! People like the concept and the songs are getting a lot of likes and views on YouTube. It's a long time we don't have this kind of flavour because the summer was kinda saturated with girl songs. So right now, this is looking to dominate the dancehall," DJ Neil said.

The video production arm of Cashflow is currently plotting to shoot a medley music video for the Leggo rhythm. DJ Neil also hinted that footage would be captured at local street parties.

"At Cashflow, we do music for them to become a classic and not to last a week or two. We also have new projects like the Overcome rhythm, 6 o' Clock, Bellfoot, and the Throwback rhythm. From now leading up to the winter season, we want to change a new gear with our productions," DJ Neil said.

Some of the artistes to be featured on Cashflow's new projects include I-Octane, Khago, Lady Saw, Elephant Man, D'Angel, Melloquence, GarrIzon, Romain Virgo, T'Nez, and Jahvinci, among others.
