Look out world, here comes Chizem. This beautiful, sassy singjay plans to heat things up in the dancehall with her risque lyrics and her unique vocal style."I want to make a big impact on the dancehall music scene and establish myself locally and then, from there, I plan to take my career on to the international scene. I am confident that I have what it takes to make it, my style is very unique and my lyrics are fresh," said the artiste.
The talented Mandeville native was bitten by the music bug early in life. She began singing on her school choir and her church youth choir at the age of 10. Those early years helped to prepare her vocally for the path that she has chosen to pursue.
"I have a very deep love for music. It all started from my childhood days when I use to sing on my school and church choirs. I really cherish those early experiences, as I learnt a lot about singing," she said.
Chizem has released a number of singles so far, like Have It Lock, If Mi Win The Lotto, Dancefloor, and Wine. But it is her latest single titled Mi Like It To (The Threesome Song) that is creating a buzz for her in dancehall circles.
"I have several songs out and they have received a fair amount of exposure, but since I dropped a song called Mi Like It To, I have been getting a lot of attention from a wide cross section of people including radio DJs, selectors and the fans, they all love it. I did this song in defence of Khago's song, it's just a fun song, but some people say it's controversial because I say Mi Like It To."
