Since competing in the Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall competition, fast rising dancehall artiste Specialist has been expanding his repertoire of songs. The artiste recently teamed up with singer Ishawna on a love song titled 'do for love'.The Downsound recording artiste told The Star that although he is known for his street anthem songs, he did not find it difficult to branch out into love songs.
"It wasn't really challenging for me to do a love song enuh, cause is a natural ting. People get hurt in relationships, is just a natural ting that happen," Specialist told THE STAR.
According to Ishawna, she fell in love with the idea and the concept of the song after she was approached by the producer Skatta Burrell. She went on to say that working with Specialist was a good experience."It was great, he's talented, versatile and we have good chemistry. The vibe is there," she said.
Both artistes are planning to shoot a video for the single in the upcoming weeks.
"You can look out for a video in a few weeks. The song has been doing really well overseas as well as in Jamaica. It's really surprising, everybody has been receiving it well," Ishawna said.
Ishawna, who recently landed a temporary gig of hosting the FiWi Choice countdown show says she is currently promoting her new singles Love and I Can Love You.
"I've been getting calls to host other shows and I'm also getting scripts for movies overseas. My music is also doing well overseas, so fans can look for out for more music from Ishawna," she said
In the meantime, Specialist says fans can look out for his latest song Gallis Anthem Part 2. He is also planning on doing more love songs.
"Di girl dem go fi dem type a song deh so just look out for more songs like this to embrace the ladies," Specialist said.
