Maestroxity releases 'Demo Reel'

Intellectual performer, deep thinker, and wordsmith are some of the words used to describe up-and- coming dancehall act Maestroxity who has recently released his mix- tape Demo Reel.

Born Xavon Atkins and hailing from St Ann, Maestroxity started out as a rapper but decided to change the style of his delivery to focus on his root genres of reggae and dancehall.

Currently Demo Reel, which is being push on the underground circuit, has received great feedback and praise, bubbling on the street scene.

While focused mainly on hardcore dancehall music, Maestroxity does not perform his music in the typical manner which sometimes disconnect with the audience. But he believes that's exactly why he is better than all the other new artistes.

He uses jargon and prose to engage his listeners on a deep level. "Listen Tweetin Lesson, I want to be a game changer in the industry. I use words and music to express myself, so I don't do the catchy lines repeated over and over. I try to have an engaging conversation with my listeners from which they can take away something. I give what I have to offer, not just what they want," he said

His aim is to give dancehall what he has and by doing so, plans to shake things up.

A studio engineer by training, Maestroxity is influenced by the masters of dancehall such as Papa San, Professor Nuts, Super Cat, and Dancehall's Emperor Shabba Ranks among others. He plans to be a legend of the dancehall music.
