Advoket's 'After Tonight' climbs reggae charts

As Advoket's reggae cover of Justin Nozuka's After Tonight on the Gankin Label climbs the reggae charts in the US, the song has made its way into UK charts.

The founder of Dancehall Empire Show Top 30 Reggae Singles Charts, Deejay Mastermix, said he created the charts to give pure reggae-music performers a home for themselves.

"I have been compiling charts, Dancehall Empire Show Top 30 Chart, for a number of years, but I find that dancehall music has overshadowed reggae music so I started this chart for the purpose of compiling data on reggae singles," said Deejay Mastermix, a UK citizen of Jamaican parentage.

He said After Tonight, recently on his promo chart at number one for five weeks, made it on the inaugural chart at number 12. The chart is released every Saturday on Rocsolid FM Online Radio in the UK.

"How I placed his song had to do with how well it's doing on itunes, the number of hits it has on youtube, as well as how well it's making its round on the network and in the club. I also look at its position on other charts including Hype TV in Jamaica," he said.

The 30-year music-business veteran has interviewed the likes of Capleton, Ninja Man, Stone Love Sound, Killimanjaro, Matterhorn, Body Guard Sound, ft Johnny & Firelinks, GT Taylor, Chuck Fender, and Barbee.

He said based on requests the song is getting, it should move up the charts quickly.
