Reese Badda shares his excitement about opening a dancehall show for The Queen of the Dancehall.
"It's an honour to perform alongside Lady Saw and Iyara, I'm definitely looking forward to the show, and I know my fans are excited as well. Dem nuh see me in a good while, so I'm anxious to show my growth," he said.
This will be his first big performance since performing on Action Promotion's Champions in Action, which featured several well-recognised dancehall and reggae acts like Chino, Laden, I-Wayne, and more.
Anxious to perform
"Right now, mi anxious to perform some fan favourites from my Trailblazer mixtape, like Wedding Ring and few long-time fan favourites like Tear Drops. Plus, nuff tings a gwaan outta road weh mi nuh really love fi see, suh mi ready fi preach to di congregation wid some unreleased material too," says Reese Badda.
Enthusiastic about his award nominations, Reese said, "I feel elated to have received three nominations in the Chatty Chatty Awards, it's always good to be recognised for the hard work, so I'm grateful. Right now, mi jus want di hardcore fans dem log on and vote, cause they know more than anyone how much work mi put in. Win or lose, though, I just have to gwaan put in di work and God will open the doors once mi reach wid di knock."
Reese recently joined Iyara under Asonic Entertainment's management, and is undoubtedly ready to take his talents to another level. Exciting upcoming projects include several music videos for singles from his Trailblazer mixtape, as well as completing a follow-up mixtape which is scheduled to be released early next year.
Although Trailblazer had a strong hip-hop influence, his new material will be geared towards more original dancehall.
