Delly Ranx is gunning for the 'Comeback Artiste of the Year' title with his resurgence as a serious force to reckon with in reggae music. The reggae artiste's The Next Chapter title track jumped two places to #12 this week on the HYPE TV Top 20 charts.
Since its release three months ago, the single has fast become a favourite of reggae fans on various social media, and now it is reaping commercial success with the title track popping up on ethnic charts in the US, Japan, France and Canada. The single is also bubbling on the Stampede Street Charts while the reggae album is vaulting up the Richie B Jamaica Music Countdown charts.
"The response has been outstanding so far. The title track, The Next Chapter, is climbing charts on Hype TV in Jamaica and RadioDubPlate in Toronto. The album is doing well on local charts as well, people are responding to the reggae vibe, The Next Chapter has definitely begun," Delly Ranx said.
Delly Ranx performed at a gig in Boston on October 13, rocking the stage with Wayne Wonder.
"I did songs such as Headache, Pon Di Corner, Why, World General, Work Roun Dem, Jiggy Time, Redbull And Guinness and Good Girls. Then Wayne Wonder joined me onstage, and we did a couple collabs I sang some of Buju's songs, it was a great vibe," Delly Ranx said.
The highlight of his performance was a tribute to his slain colleague, Wayne 'Captain Barkey' Hamilton who was gunned down Saturday with his lover, Tracy Bennett.
"I did Cold Blooded Murderer for my friend Capt Barkey and that brought the house down. R.I.P my friend, dem hurt the body, but dem caan hurt the soul," Delly Ranx said.
He has another show in Mexico City on November 24. He will be returning to the island later this month to shoot a video for The Next Chapter with Terminal 4 Media. "It will be a three-day shoot. I am going all out to push this song because it has a powerful message," Delly Ranx said.
