Top producer and designer Romeich Major is doing it big with
his much-talked-about birthday celebration, 'Uptown Meets Downtown'.
The free event which will be staged on Friday, October 26 at his company's 11/2 Campbell's Boulevard address, promises to be a fun-filled one, says Romeich.
"The name came from the concept that I had in mind to merge the
whole uptown and downtown dancehall vibe and put it in one location. So
we're going to be having selectors known in both markets so to speak and
all of them have crazy vibes, so people coming out can look forward to a
memorable night. Plus some of the hottest artistes in reggae and dancehall now will be there," he says.
From the 'Downtown' line-up are selectors, Richie Feelings, Foota
Hype, Scientist, Boom Boom while the 'Uptown' selectors slated to play
at the event are: Cutty, DJ Nicco, ZJ Ice, DJ Denvo and 'Mr. Uptown'
himself, Supa Hype. While artistes including Aidonia known for Tan
Tuddy, Caribbean Girls, Jack Hammer; Konshens, the constant hit-maker,
with songs including Bad Gal, Gal A Bubble, Rave We A Rave featuring Chino, Do Supm; deejay, Versatile known for Bank Ina Mi Pocket and other artistes will be in attendance.
"Everybody can come out expecting great music, great vibes, lots
of dancing, great liquor and refreshments. I can't give away everything
that will be happening, but when you see the kind of selectors on the
line-up, you know it's going to be a very good night. Not to mention the
performances from Konshens, Aidonia, Versatile and the other artistes
in attendance," says Romeich.
The event is sponsored by Heineken, LIME, Appleton, Boom, Wata, Rough Rider, Romeich Wear and A+ (A Plus).
