The common-law wife of incarcerated dancehall artiste Shawn
Campbell, otherwise called Shawn Storm, has denied allegations that the
artiste has gone mentally ill since his incarceration.
According to Camille Chow, the now-single mother of Campbell's five-year-old daughter, persons should desist from spreading rumours.
"Shawn Storm is still hanging in there, waiting for his date, and
they must stop spreading rumours saying that he is getting mad. that is
a big lie. His family is here waiting for the best and he has our
support," Chow said.
The mother disclosed that the artiste is remaining optimistic despite the challenges.
"When I go down there and see him, it is always emotional,
knowing that I have to go back home without him, but he is trying to be
strong. I am traumatised about the situation but I am trying to keep up
and hoping that when I go to court it will be positive," she said.
Behind bars
In Shawn Storm's 2010 hit single, My Life, he
mentioned that he wanted to get medical care for his mother's eye. Now
that the artiste is behind bars, Chow revealed that Shawn Storm is
unable to accomplish his goal.
"He would want to get his mother's eye fixed because she is kinda
visually impaired and he has a five-year-old daughter. She misses him
very much. Every time she asks when is daddy coming home. I had to give
her counselling. Her teacher says she is doing well, though especially
in history," Chow said.
Shawn Storm was jointly charged with his mentor and boss, Vybz
Kartel, for the murder of Clive Williams in 2011. Vybz Kartel is
scheduled to appear in court on November 12.
Shawn Storm's single, My Life, which was uploaded by Hype TV Jamaica in July 2010, now has over one million views on YouTube.com.
"Everybody still love Shawn Storm, it's just that we don't have a
lot of songs for him like Vybz Kartel, but we have a few singles and a
jugging to release for him in coming months, one featuring Tommy Lee
Sparta," revealed So Unique Records producer Elvis Redwood.
